Seventh grade has given me many fun memories, but here are three. My first favorite memory was when one of my friends Enzo made up with word Vinormous when Miss Moffat was trying to remind us of a word that started with a V and meant big and then he just said it and made it up on the spot! My second favorite memory is when this semester I joined Home economics, I had a lot of fun there learning how to sew and using a sewing machine and I also like the projects we did like the pillow and PJ pants. My last favorite memory I have here at school is being with my friends and spending time with them and some of my close friends too, this year was a lot of fun being with them this year, and I’m gonna miss it kinda:(
20% – Week Five – Tree Trimming Gear
Hi again for the fifth time! To remind you since it’s been five weeks I’m doing tree trimming for my 20% project. This week my goal was to learn about the tree trimming gear when tree trimming and climbing the tree. This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish my goal this week which I was proud of because this week I researched for personal protective equipment first you need a helmet to protect your head from falling branches, Safety glasses to protect your eyes from sawdust and wood chips, Heavy duty work gloves to protect your hands from cuts and splinters, And 30 nonslip work boots or steel toed boots to provide stability and protect your feet. I also researched about the climbing gear, which was a properly fitted harness is for securing yourself, while climbing, a strong climbing and durable rope is needed for ascending and descending, A lanyard helps you maintain your position and provides an additional point of attachment, Ascenders and descenders help you ascend in the sand the rope safely, and climbing, spurs or spikes provide additional grip while climbing certain types of trees. This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Next week I will being working on my tri-fold. Anyways thanks for reading I’ll update you next week!
The Best Mom I Could Ever Ask For!
My mom is the most amazing woman in my life. First, because she helps me a lot in life and teaches me things I have to learn for the near future, for example she’s going to teach me how to drive this weekend maybe! Next, she always makes sure I’m doing my best in school and never give up and keep going and try hard, so I take it as a motivation to keep trying and never give up in school. She also takes care of me and makes sure i’m okay and also cares about me a lot, for example she wants to know where I’m going before I leave and checks up on me when I’m not home to make sure everything’s okay. That’s why I think I have the best Mom I could ever ask for!
20% – Week Four – Turning on a Chainsaw
Hi I’m back again to update you on my progress this week four. This week my goal was to learn how to turn on a chainsaw. This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish how to turn it on because I researched how to turn it on for beginners and I studied and read everything so I know what to do when I actually try to turn it on it wasn’t to hard to learn but I still studied it because I want to make sure so everything goes well. Some things I learned was to activate the choke and (on certain models) press the decompression control, pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Then push the choke (half throttle) and pull again until the saw starts, pull the starter handle with your right hand and repeat until the engine fires. This week was a great and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Next week I will be working on the gear to use when tree trimming. Thanks for reading i’ll update you on week five!
20% – Week Three – sharpening a chainsaw
Hi! Again, this week I learned about how to sharpen a chainsaw by reading and studying and researching. Some successes that I experienced this week were when sharpening a chainsaw you secure the chainsaw bar in a wise or on a bench. Then, Using the appropriate file size for your chain, File each tooth at the correct angle, Ensuring all teeth are sharpen to the same length and depth. 12 strokes per tooth. I had some struggles like finding more information and deltas on how to sharpen it but then I researched more and studied it and found what I needed, and now I know how to sharpen it when I get to! Since I struggled a little bit on researching more details I decided to adjust on study more on how to sharpen the chain. Next week I will be working on how to turn on the chainsaw! Anyways hanks for reading, I’ll update you next week on my progress.
RAD READING – April
DIARY of a Wimpy Kid WRECKING BALL by Jeff Kinney. This month I read a book called Diary of a Wimpy Kid Wrecking Ball by Jeff Kinney. Durning the book before the end Greg and his family were talking at dinner that one of there aunts died and she had left money for them, so they decided to use it on an addition to there house but there were a lot of problems during construction so they gave up on it, and started looking for other houses they could move into, so they found one and started packing and moving things but became a disaster also on the other hand Greg’s friend was sad that he was moving so and things were bad at the end but soon after everything was fine. I liked this book because the title of it really does show off how the book was gonna be like because it was a wreaking ball with all the different things and problems happening through out the whole book. My favorite character is probably Greg because in this book with all the problems and things happening he was chill about it and didn’t wine about anything, and a character trait for Greg is probably selfish because he keeps his thoughts to himself and doesn’t tell anyone and always has his sad face like here it said “Dad was frustrated I wasn’t paying attention, and he asked me what I’m gonna do if I ever get stuck by the side of the road with a flat tire.” This quote means not paying attention to the little things in life that are important they can help you. A lot later in life when your older and don’t have your parents which means learn young and pay attention! My favorite quote from this book is “Dad was frustrated I wasn’t paying attention, and he asked me what I’m gonna do if I ever get stuck by the side of the road with a flat tire.” This quote is meaningful to me because when I was younger I never wanted to go to school or learn the things important in life or payed attention in school but i knew and learned that I was gonna need it so I started to concentrate and pay more attention so I know in the future how things will be for me.
My Favorite Room
My favorite room in my home is my room. It’s my favorite because that’s where I send most of my time and do most of my things like homework, play video games (sometimes), and sleep. My room isn’t too big, but first when you walk in my sisters bed is the the left by the wall then i have a trash can next to a night stand by my bed, my bed is on the far wall when you walk in and next to it is a table with my TV and game console. I have a closet too but thats not really important, its also quiet in there when no one is there but me. Those are my reasons why my room is my favorite room in my home.
20% – Week Two – Working The Chain Saw
Hi! I’m here to update you on my progress for week two, on learning how to work the chainsaw and how to use it properly and well. This week was amazing and I able to accomplish that, some things I learned for beginners was always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands, make sure the tip of the chainsaw doesn’t touch any objects, Take extra caution when cutting twigs and other light material, Be cautious when re-entering and cut. some struggles I had were what the throttle, safety throttle, and where the front handle was, so I searched up some pictures of where all the things were and studied it well and it helped a ton! because now I know where everything is. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Next week I will be working on how to sharpen the chainsaw. thank you for reading my blog! I’ll update you guys next week.
20% – Week One – Types of Rope’s
Hello my name is Anthony, for my 20% project I am learning about the Tree Trimming materials and how to use and work them. This week my goal was to learn what type of ropes there are and which to use when Tree Trimming, I accomplished that goal and I learned two types of ropes to use in different situations like, Static rope, and Dynamic rope. I did some research on what types to use, and it told me exactly what I needed to know. I read a lot and learned a lot about the ropes, another thing is my dad is a tree trimmer so he knows a lot he’s been one almost more than half of his life so I have him to help/teach me things about the ropes especially if he has a ton of them! Some struggles I had was learning what other types of ropes there were but I only saw Static rope and Dynamic rope which probably means those are the main ropes used for tree trimming, so them I just research them and learned more about the ropes what what they are used for depending on the situation, and i also wrote some notes about it. For now I have learned two different ropes aka the important ones to use for tree trimming, since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Im glad I chose this topic because I feel like it would be easier since my dad has a lot of experience and can teach me a lot! Thanks for reading ill update you next week on my progress!!
Somethings About my Life
One Sunday morning, around eleven O-clock after we finished eating breakfast. He had asked me and my two siblings “where should we go?” And before that we were talking about getting me an E-bike that I can take to school. So I told him “Dad can I please get one please!” And he told me “where do they sell them?” So I told him where. But then thats when he asked us “where should we go?” And was the first one to say the where, so we went there. We walked around for a bit and we found the E-bike section and I found one, and we got a great deal for it for seven-hundred fifty dollars. Now today a couple weeks after getting it I started taking it to school because I had the go the a presentation to learn the rules about riding them to school and on the streets then get the permit, so i got it and now I’m taking it to school.
